TM 2015 > Soarin' over the Transportation Museum

"The Soarin' [exhibit] was so well-done! Keep up the awesome work!" Every museum guest who tried out this exhibit came out with a huge smile.

What was it?

The Soarin' exhibit was a 4-minute, motion/thrill ride featuring a high-definition video of captivating landscapes. It even included some water spray!

Once guests laid down on a biplane (really an air mattress), museum volunteers swayed the mattress back and forth to create the sense of flying. When the video included pictures of close-by waterfalls, guests would get sprayed by their mist (really a spray bottle). Throughout the ride, guests felt the wind in their faces (really lots of fans), as if they were really flying.

In 1903, Orville and Wilbur Wright commenced their famous flight. With this exhibit, you can re-take the famous flight. Are you ready?

What's the secret?

It took a lot of work and lots of planning to create this exhibit. But seeing everyone smile when the "ride" was over...that was well-worth it! Every guest loved the exhibit...adults and kids alike!
