Fastrak

Whether you use it twice a day or twice a year, FasTrak makes paying for tolls on bridges, express lanes and even SFO airport parking quick and convenient!

  • It’s fast. Dedicated lanes let you breeze past lines at the toll booth.

  • It’s easy. The toll tag does all the work—no more fumbling for cash!

  • It’s free. There are no fees to maintain a FasTrak account.

FasTrak is an electronic toll collection system which operates with the use of a toll tag and special equipment installed in the FasTrak lanes. The lane equipment reads the tag information and the number of axles on your vehicle. This information is used to deduct the correct toll amount from your account balance. The time, date, and location are collected as well.

When the toll tag is read by the lane equipment, the tag will beep. Most bridge toll plaza lanes also have an information sign that will give you an account status update message, such as Valid FasTrak or Low Balance. That’s double confirmation that your tag was read properly.

Bay Area FasTrak toll facilities include bridges, Express Lanes, and the San Francisco International Airport parking garage. Click on an icon on the map below or use the links on the right for more information on each location.

You can use your FasTrak tag on toll facilities across California, wherever the FasTrak logo is displayed. The tolls will be deducted from your FasTrak account.

You can add value (in the form of both passes and cash value) to your card as you go, or for added convenience, you can set up your card to automatically reload whenever your pass expires or your cash balance falls below $10 or your parking cash balance falls beloe $40. Or, you can add value online or on your mobile phone.
