Transportation Museum 2015 > Transportation Collectibles
Since early Transportation Museums, collectibles have been displayed as an exhibit. In the past, we have displayed clothing, hats, shopping bags, chapstick, bus stops, buses, old SamTrans schedules, and more. This year, we were proud to present some of the many items that over 75 transit agencies have generously gifted to me. Thank you to those transit agencies!
Transit Agencies
Over the past five years, I have written to transit agencies across the state of California, the state of Nevada, and the country. I have also collected old Bay Area schedules, thanks to Jim Husing and Alex, who used to work at the comapny. In addition, whenever I travel, I pick up schedules and maps from that city's transportation system.
More than 85% of the transit agencies I write to respond. Of those transit agencies, more than 2/3 send me more than just schedules. They also send me these collectibles, from posters and mini-whiteboards to cups, shirts, and more. I also enjoy reading letters the agencies write to me.Thank you so much to the transit agencies who sent me these items!
